cheese, sour cream, ham and so much more.

WHO
DID
IT
?
A Timber Valley Mystery.. Someone drove a car down the pedestrian path that leads from Hilltop to just behind the
clubhouse near the Laundry.  There is some damage to the shrubbery as well as the big rocks being shoved and dislodged from
their spots. The scrapings on the rocks indicate there may have been damage to the car as well.
Remember, the paths are for pedestrians only.   No golf carts and  no cars.

The highlights of January were visits by Brother Dave and Betty from Downey, Sisters
Kat and Sue from Wisconsin, and Son Paul and Steph from Texas.

. Of course we had to watch the Rose Bowl and we had a bet on; if the Badgers lost they
had to put Oregon Duck Decals on their Cars when they got back to Wisconsin and I
"just happened to have" a couple for them.
While they were here they were treated to Oregon Dungeness Crab, we brought a
couple whole ones down with us plus some that we picked that Mom used to make her
"Famous Crab Cakes".

While they were here someone back into the side of the Truck at a grocery parking lot
and banged up the right rear Fender.  Our Insurance gave us the name of a Body Shop
and will go after the other guy's Insurance. We had to pay the $500 Deductible but
expect to get that back someday. They gave us a free Loaner while they were fixing the
Truck. They did a real good job on it, it looks almost brand new.

Mom has had several Doctors visits and was given a clean bill of Health for her thyroid
but still has to take some expensive pills. She is also taking Physical Therapy twice each
week which seems to be doing her a bit of good. Now she hobbles around without
using her cane. She is still the Chief Cook and has been making some exotic Dinners
that are so good it is hard to keep our weight down.  She also made a batch of
Marmalade from Oranges we got from Dave and Betty. It is a bit sweet but quite good.
They also brought us a lot of Lemons that Mom has been mixing with hot water to drink
in the mornings

Bob got a new Rototiller which I use to turn up the "Orchard". We put in a Lemon, a
Grapefruit and a Comice Pear Trees bringing the total up to 14, and that is enough. Two
of the apples are in full bloom.
Je9 is worried that I won't have enough to do so she
keeps bringing home more stuff to plant. She also
had me plant 80 Red and 80 Yellow Onion Sets an
about 20 Garlic Cloves. The raised bed is doing quite
well. The Peas are about 2 feet tall but have not
started to blossom yet. I put in Radish as row
markers and we are getting some of them now. We
should also be getting some Carrots in a week or two
but the Spinach and Lettuce will be a while. Most of it
will be ready after we go back to Oregon but the
Folks here should make good use of the Crops.

was in the air !
Fred Prout served as quiz master at the Timber
Valley version of the  OLDIES WED GAME at the
Valentine party. The questions and answers given
by the 4 couples were very revealing. There were
questions on embarrasing moments, bad meals,
desert island companions and more.  A mile or so
of super scrumptious, gooey chocolate and creamy
good sweet treats  were shared. After so much
sweetness it was easy to forgive any embarassing
answers given  and everyone had a good time.

We Ladies of Timber Valley appreciate the Mens Cooking Group. The
women enjoy the frequent tasty meals and their time away from kitchen
duties. We are becoming very spoiled and look forward to each and
every event. Next up....
